Corrie Sweeps Up At The National Television Awards

In it's 15th year, the awards saw  Coronation street win best serial for the first time since 2004.

The weatherfield based soap beat stiff competition from Albert Squares, Eastenders and Hollyoakes.

Long time presenting duo Ant and Dec won the best entertainer presenter for a ninth year running. The pair's 'Saturday Night Takeaway' was named best entertainment show.

A stunned Stephen Fry was shocked to win the special recognition award and a Best Documentary award for ' Stephen Fry : In America'.

Identical twins Jedward came out of hibernation and performed a very exciting per a mix of "Under Pressure" and "Ice Ice Baby" in collaboration with Vanilla Ice.

The crowd went wild, even after X Factor winner Joe McElderry performed to open the event.

Simon Cowell and his X Factor team scooped up most popular TV Talent show. With support from PM Gordon Brown, Cowell confirmed that he would be planning a star studded charity single in aid of Haiti.
