There are fears Tube safety could be at risk as job cuts are on the cards at 70 tube stations.

The Rail, Maratime and Transport Union (RMT) say safety on the tube will be 'devastated' if the planned cuts go ahead.

Transport for London (TFL) insist no decisions have been made and passenger safety will not be put at risk.

Gordon Brown is due to apologise today for the deportation of thousands of children from Britain to the colonies in the 1920s and 1960s.

Thousands of children from poor backgrounds were sent to Australia and New Zealand for a better life, but many suffered horrendous child abuse.

The Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has already apologised for the way they were treated.
