Amid allegations of Gordon Brown bullying staff at Downing Street, the Labour party have backed the Prime Minister.

Chancellor Alistair Darling has admitted to 'robust exchanges', but says there is far more holding them together than tearing them apart.

Sir Alan Sugar descibed Gordon Brown as a man with 'a bit of fire in his belly' and a 'man who gets things done' but said he did not bully Downing Street staff.

Sarah Brown, the PM's wife came out to defend her husband this week amidst rumours of 'temper tantrums' and poor behavior in the offices.

A spokesperson from the National Bullying Helpline has also admitted to receiving calls from Downing Street.
