Did you ever think you would find love among the lettuces?
Well Asda is offering it’s shoppers more than just groceries. Asda has launched it’s first speed dating session in North London.
Research from the supermarket shows that 64% of customers would consider the supermarket a good place to meet a potential partner, and 34% would rather meet their partner there than at a nightclub or bar.
Those looking for love enjoyed dates with up to 10 members of the opposite sex each lasting five minutes. The timing is based on research with male shoppers suggests that most men make up their mind about a woman within two and a half minutes of meeting them, whereas women tend to take their time - a whole minute longer.
Trina Pabari who attended the event said “I’ve heard of people finding love in much stranger places than amongst the bananas, its a great idea!”
There were no matches made on the first night but Asda is going to roll out the idea nationwide, Christine from Asda’s communication said, “We get hundreds of letters each year from customers who have met in the aisles and we’re excited about bringing people together in this way – in fact to date we’ve had two weddings in store with a third taking place Valentine’s weekend”
Tina, Events Coordinator at Asda Wembley added “I always see customers making conversation with fellow shoppers around the store so hosting a speed dating night makes complete sense –we all really hope love will be in the air”
