Cheap clothes from the market, pints of bitter from the Woolpack and Betty's hotpot were all thrown to the cobbles last night, as stars of the small screen turned out for the 15th National Television Awards.

And it was all change at this year's ceremony.  New host.  New venue.  And even a new category.  Sir Trevor McDonald handed over the prestigious baton of host to Dermot O'Leary.  The Royal Albert Hall was replaced by the gigantic O2 Arena and, for the first time, there was an award for Best Travel Documentary.

The first recipient of this gong was Stephen Fry for 'Stephen Fry in America'.  He also picked up the Special Recognition award.  Find out how he reacted when LCC News spoke to him afterwards.

Ant & Dec had two nominations in the Most Popular Entertainment Programme category for 'I'm a Celebrity...' and their 'Saturday Night Takeaway'.  The lads won with 'Saturday Night Takeaway', and went on to beat Paul O'Grady and Davina McCall for Most Popular Entertainment Presenters.

Eastender's Lacey Turner who plays Stacey Slater was up against Katherine Kelly (Becky McDonald), Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald) and Gray O'Brien (Tony Gordon) - all from Cornation Street for Best Serial Drama Performance.  Turner beat off all three Corrie stars for the in this category for the second time.

It was all smiles for Simon Cowell when he walked away with the Most Popular Talent Show trophy.  He told LCC News afterwards how he now intends to release a charity track in aid of Haiti.  Listen to what he said below.

But all eyes were on the coveted Serial Drama award, or to you and me - best soap.  Eastenders have won this for the past five years, but it was Corrie's year in 2010.  The stars spoke with LCC after the award.  Find out how some of them reacted below.
