Manchester City's Carlos Tevez produced a dogged display against his former employers Manchester United last night, hauling the cash-rich club to victory after going a goal down.
The first leg of the Carling Cup semi final offered a scintilating display, as the city rivals both look to reach the final and get their first piece of silverware of the season.
Welsh winger Ryan Giggs had given United a deserved lead, tapping in a low cross from Antonia Valencia.
However, this seemed to spark Tevez into life, who put in a tireless display as he hounded United's defenders.
The Argentine smashed in a penalty just before half-time after a debatable foul by Rafael da Silva on Graig Bellamy appeared to happen outside the box.
He later headed home from six yards after Vincent Kompany's cross to give City the lead and eventually the win.
