Flintoff and Pietersen go under the hammer

Kevin Pietersen has been judged the most valuable cricketer on the auction list for the 2009 Indian Premier League. Pietersen's reserve price is $1.35 million, but England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff might turn out to be even more expensive as four different clubs are competing over him.
While Indian cricket fans are divided on which player would be the best buy, it's generally expected that one of them will set a new transfer record. England players will only get half the fee that's offered for them, as they're only available for three of the six weeks of the IPL. That means some clubs will be put off signing high-profile names when they can't play full time.
Pietersen missed out on a 15th Test century on day one of the first Test against the West Indies in Kingston yesterday, and the second day of play gets underway there soon.
We'll find out how much Indian clubs really think the England players are worth when the auction starts tomorrow.
Do you think England players should play in the IPL? Is it ridiculous to pay $1.35 million for three weeks' work, or do cricketers deserve to be paid like Premier League footballers? Tell us what you think.
