Here's a round up of what's happening at home and abroad.

Winter Olympics

The England Curling team are out as Sweden beat the men's team in a 7-6 defeat play off.  England were always trailing and playing catch-up as the Swedes dominated the game.  Despite the loss, Captain David Murdoch says he's still very proud of his team.

British Bobsleigh duo Nicola Minichiello and Gillian Cook's Olympic bid ended in dramatic style.  Their last attempt to get on the medals table saw the girls whizzing down the bobsleigh track and beating their personal best. 

Tennis

Scottish firecracker Andy Murray shocked fans and angered officials at the ATP World Tour in Dubai.  He was surprisingly beaten by unseeded Russian Janko Tipsarevic. After the match the British no.1 said he used the match as an "experiment". Watch Andy Murray being quized on his achievements.

Football

Chelsea suffered a 2-1 first leg defeat against Inter Milan in last nights Champions League.  Chelsea's Solomon Kalou's goal just after the half time whistle wasn't enough to carry the blues to victory.

Aston Villa won 3-1 against Crystal Palace.  John Crew clinched the win for Villa with two late goals.

Manchester City are out of the FA cup after a 3-1 defeat against Stoke.

Why is Countdown featuring on your sports page I hear you ask?  Well Clarke Carlisle, a Premier football player has fufilled a life long dream to play on his favourite show Countdown.

Cagefighting

Britain's No.1 Dan Hardy is off to New Jersey in America to fight Georges St-Pierre for the World Championship belt.  The Canadian fighter is expected to win as Hardy plans to step into the cage as the underdog.  As pundits start taking bets, we caught up with Dan Hardy for a quick pre fight chat.  Listen to his interview on the right.

Skateboarding Fun

Longboarding guys and girls have been having some fun in the sun. Watch the video and enjoy the ride. After seeing the video all of us at LCC Radio fancy doing it too.  Anyone got a board we can borrow?

Mathieu is overrated. Who cares where he plays. I don't.
