Goalkeeper David James could move to Stoke City on loan until the end of the season Manager Tony Pulis has said.
Pulis has confirmed rumours that he has been making enquiries about the 39-year-old goalkeeper who is currently at Portsmouth.
The possibility of the move fuels the rumour further that Stoke's current goalkeeper, Thomas Sorensen could be leaving for Bayern Munich.
James has only been on the pitch 12 times for Portsmouth this season due to Asmir Begovic keeping him out the side. However a move to Stoke might not mean more time on the pitch, as Sorensen would prove another obstacle to James unless the Bayern Munich move goes ahead.
If the loan does go ahead and James does get to play, it would be a great opportunity for him to try and divert England boss Fabio Cappello's eye from West Ham's Robert Green and Birmingham's John Hart.
