Superbowl!

Superbowl is the most watched television event in the US. Last year the battle between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona attracted 106 million viewers worldwide.

London based Americans have been telling us they plan to enjoy the game with parties or even BBQ's - whatever the weather!

But for the first time ever viewing figures for the UEFA Champions League have overtaken those for Superbowl.  Last years final between Barcelona and Manchester United attracted 109 million viewers.  While Superbowl's audience is largely domestic  the Champions league is doing better globally.

'While the Superbowl has secured free-to-air broadcasting deals in a number of European markets such as the UK, France and Germany, its distribution and popularity in the key Asia-Pacific region lags far behind the Champions League.'

Although the Americans we met were loyal to Superbowl to the last - it looks like the rest of the world prefer playing the game our way!
